Broadheath Central, Liverpool John Moores (university)
Outside of Football
Work as a PE teacher. I’m quite active and go to gym quite a lot
I go to the gym regularly and socialise with friends
What does football mean to you?
It changed a lot as I’ve gotten older. When I was younger the dream was always to make it as a footballer, but as you get older it changes. At university it was for the social aspect. Now it is competitive, being round a good group of lads, some young lads too, and seeing them progressing the right way. It’s still a bit social but it still has the competitive edge that I missed while at university
Favourite goal you’ve ever seen?
David Beckham: England 2-2 Greece, October 6, 2001. It’s the best goal, or at least the most important goal, I’ve ever seen
What name did you have on the back of your shirt when you were young? Which players did you idolise?
I definitely had Cristiano Ronaldo while he was at Manchester United, and a Real Madrid shirt with the Brazilian Ronaldo on it. Beckham was a big one too, but I also had a Wes Brown shirt. For me, he is my favourite footballer, so I’m proud to say I had Wes Brown on the back of a shirt.
First game you attended as a fan?
I don’t exactly remember what my first match was. One of the first games would have probably been a reserve game for United, as they were being hosted at Altrincham at the time. I went to them all the time.
However, one of the the first games I properly remember was that England v Greece game I mentioned before.
