Manchester Central Awards Evening 2019
On Saturday 25th May, Manchester Central players and staff met up to celebrate what has been a fantastic first season in the Manchester Premier Divison. Central finished 2nd in the league finishing 5 points behind Hindsford. With a lot of reason to smile about the season the Central team celebrated it by having an awards night at Roxy’s Ball Room.
The first award went to Daniel Parker for completing 100 games for Manchester Central over the last three seasons. During those 100 games, Danny has helped Central win promotion to the Premier Divison, win the Murray Trophy and also the Terry Wood Cup.
The next award up for grabs was the most Man Of The Match awards. With a total of 6 Man Of The Match awards, Dan Burns was the winner of this award.
Throughout the season Dan has been an everpresent figure in the Central front line scoring 23 goals in 26 appearances, he scored some vital goals including a last minute winner against Heyside in the Quarter Finals of the Gilgryst Cup
Up next was Supporters Player Of The Year. This was a tightly contested affair with the winner being Paul Riley.
Over the season Paul has been at every game playing 32 times and scoring one goal away to Royton Town from his own half. He was also captain of Central four times throughout the season.
Ben Jupp was our next winner picking up two awards on the night, first of all, he picked up the award for players player and then he picked up the award for player of the year.
Ben has been a pivotal part of the central team at times making countless crucial saves during the season. During the season Ben has kept 8 clean sheets in 27 appearances which helped propel cental up the league table. After being out of football for a year Ben made a strong comeback to his football career.
From everyone at Central, we would like to thank all the players for their hard work during the season and every player has played their part in making this season a memorable one for the club.
