Manchester Central will be making the 16-mile round trip to take on Chadderton Reserves in their penultimate league fixture in the Manchester Premier Division.
Last time out, Manchester Central came out one nil victors in a tense encounter with Old Altrinchamians. Josh Frith was played through by Mauro Mendes in the 69th minute and slotted the ball into the bottom left corner to give Central a vital three points.

The victory guarantees that the lowest Manchester Central can finish is second in their first ever Premier Division season. However, with two games left and six points needed for the title, Central know that the Manchester Premier Division title is well within their reach.
Chadderton Reserves have won three of their last five games, most notably a 7-1 win versus Rochdale Sacred Heart last weekend. However, they have proved inconsistent with a 4-2 defeat to Heyside and 4-0 loss to Bolton County.
Since losing to Hindsford in November, Manchester Central have gone on a terrific run, winning 14 games out of a potential 16. In that time, Paul McGuire’s side have scored 51 goals. Manchester Central’s two draws came away in a disappointing 1-1 versus Dukinfield Town and at home to Chadderton Reserves which also finished 1-1 in January.
Manchester Central have improved dramatically in defence, keeping four clean sheets in their last eight games. Chadderton Reserves’ last clean sheet came in early March when they beat Stockport Georgians 5-0.
The return of Cory Knight has only seen an improvement in the form of Central’s three front men. Josh Frith has scored five goals in his last five league appearances. Dan Burns has scored six goals in his last five whilst Cory Knight has scored seven goals in his last five league appearances.
Despite the impressive form of Central’s goalscoring trio, that has not stopped other players getting in on the action. The most notable goal came when Cyril Davies showed his athleticism with a wonderful bicycle kick in Central’s 5-4 victory away at Heyside two weeks ago. Surely a goal of the season contender.
Meanwhile, Alireza Farhadi has been in good form for Chadderton Reserves, scoring five goals in his last five matches. Matthew Booth has scored seven goals in 21 matches and also has the most appearances for Chadderton Reserves this season.
