Manchester Central Reserves return to action on Saturday as they entertain Govan Athletic Reserves at the Manchester College.
This is not the first time that Central have met Govan in 2019, going down 2-0 back in January thanks to goals from Bradley Snape and Jason Eme.
And Central will be looking for revenge as they look to move into the top half of Division Four of the Manchester Football League.
Having won six, lost six and drawn two of their games so far this season, Central will want to finish this season on a high.
There have been signs recently that Jaimie Nevitt’s side are on the up, they took four points off second-placed Royton Town, winning one of those two matches 7-0.
The home supporters in attendance will be hoping that Central can add to the 50 goals they already have in the league this season.
The tally is the fourth best in the division, with it particularly impressive at how at the goals have been shared around. Jazzie Marong is Central’s top scorer with eight, but there have been contributions from all over the pitch.
Central may sit ninth in the table, but on their day they have the potential to cause any team problems.
They take on a Govan side that are in excellent form, winning won three on the bounce and would move above Central with a win.
However, their away form is poor, having won only twice on the road all season. The last of which came all the way back in September.
Whereas Central have won five of their seven matches at the Manchester College and will look to make good use of home advantage again on Saturday.
With Central’s first team in excellent form, get down to the Manchester College on Saturday and see if the Reserves can follow suit!
