Manchester Central will be hoping to extend their unbeaten run this Saturday in a tough test against third-placed Royton Town.
Central have just come off the back of three straight wins against Bolton County, Springhead AFC and Dukinfield Town which sees them sit comfortably in seventh place with a respectable 24 points from 14 games.
Meanwhile, Royton Town come into the game sitting five points above fourth-placed Heyside. The Oldham-based side suffered defeat to first-placed Rochdale Sacred Heart three weeks ago but have since got two wins on-the-bounce which leaves them five points off top with three games in hand.
A win for Central could see them rise to 27 points and as high as fifth, just six points off Royton Town. However, a Royton Town victory would see them potentially draw level on points with Hindsford on 36 points.
Royton Town will be looking towards top scorer Joe Jacombs on Saturday. The striker has 10 goals in 11 league appearances this season. Joe Heap is another danger man with 8 goals in 14 league appearances for Mark Howard’s side.
League top scorer Cory Knight will be looking to add to his unbelievable record of 17 goals in 14 league appearances this season. Meanwhile, Josh Frith will be looking to add to his eight goal tally this season. The forward bagged a brace last week against Dukinfield Town and will be hoping to continue his run of rich form.
Both teams match each other in terms of form with nine points from their last five games. Central have scored 10 goals in that time whilst Royton Town have scored an impressive 17.
Saturday will mark 21 days without a clean sheet for Paul McGuire’s side and that run may go on for longer considering the attacking talent both teams possess. Royton Town haven’t kept a clean sheet in 105 days, their last coming in a 1-0 against Old Altrinchamians in August.
