Central’s route to this game began with a 7-1 away win against Old Stretfordians. Goals from Marcello Arhin, a brace from Mauro Mendes and 4 from Josh Frith sealed a straightforward win.
Previous to Central’s last game against Beechfield, a 2-1 loss. Central had been 9 games unbeaten, having only lost 3 times this season. Central are currently 7th with 15 points, in their Manchester Premier Division debut season.
They are lethal in attack having scored 37 goals in 12 games. Central also have a 50% win ratio at home, winning 4 out of their 8 games.
Egerton have conceded 28 goals whilst they have showed their nous up top, scoring 43 goals. Although they have scored more goals at home they have scored less away from home but crucially conceded less.
They started the season on fire, winning 6 out of their first 8 however they have struggled of late. Excluding their cup win over Chadderton, their last victory in the league was on the 28th August against Middlewich Town and since then they have failed to win in 5 league games.
Josh Frith will be keen to add to his 4 goal haul in round 2 whilst top scorer Cory Knight will also remain a threat and look to continue his good form. Knight has 13 goals from 11 apps.
For Egerton, former Manchester City youth player James Thorne will be one to watch. The 22-year-old attacker was also on the books at Nottingham Forest, Macclesfield Town and most recently Hartlepool United. Back in 2015, Thorne featured 3 times for Salford City and in August 2016, featured for Forest’s first team in an EFL Cup win over Millwall. Thorne has 4 goals from 8 apps this season.
Their top scorer is Yussuf Abzullahi who has 8 goals in 10 apps whilst Cody Ruberto has 5 goals from 7 apps.
