Manchester Central look to build on their first win of the season last time out when they welcome Hindsford to The Manchester College on Saturday (KO 15:00).
Central come into the match having earned their first league victory of the Manchester Football League Premier Division season when they beat fellow newly-promoted side Beechfield United 4-0 in their last meeting.
Manager Paul McGuire’s men saw out the impressive win through a Cory Knight brace, as well as goals from Bevan Burley and Josh Frith.
The goals for Knight took him to a total of seven in his first five games this season, as the Central forward continued his remarkable start to the campaign.
The three points also saw Central move up the table to 10th place, with a game in hand on many of the other teams in the league.
Since earning promotion from Division One last season, Central have found it tough-going in the higher division but continue to improve match on match. Having lost their opening two fixtures, McGuire’s side then earned two draws before picking up their maiden Premier Division win last time out.
They have also kept up an impressive record of scoring in every match they have played in so far this season.
Central face a difficult challenge in Hindsford though on Saturday, with their opponents sitting top of the Premier Division table with maximum points from their opening six games.
Hindsford’s defence has been formidable this season, having kept four clean sheets and conceded just four goals – three of which came in one game.
It will be an interesting battle to see whether Central’s attacking talent can unpick the well-marshalled defence of their visitors.
