Manchester Central Reserves face Boothstown Reserves at Bridgewater Park this Thursday in the second fixture of the season. (KO:18.30)
Central kicked off the season with a fantastic 12-0 victory at home against Astley & Tyldesley Reserves. On the scoresheet for Central, scoring 4 was Jazzie Marong, Nathan Jackson got 3, whilst with goals from Olly Wright, Bryan Aryeetey, Danyal Halfpenny and Chieku Thiam rounded off a good attacking display, which saw Central score 9 goals in the second half.
Boothstown Reserves also got off to a win as they beat Tintwistle Athletic Reserves 9-3 away from home. Fitch and Edwards bagged 2, whilst Worthington, Whittaker, Royle, Greene and Dawber all contributed with attacking returns.
Boothstown finished 3rd last season in the scrapped Division 5, achieving 35 points as they won 11 out of their 18 league fixtures. Daniel Fitch finished top scorer with 12 goals playing all 18 league games. The striker has started this season well with 2 goals against Tintwistle and will be one too watch.
The games keep coming fast for Central Reserves as they face Heywood St James Reserves on Saturday. The first team are also in action on Thursday as they host a familiar face, in Beechfield United at The Manchester College (KO:20.05).
