Central makes it signing number two as Boic Bafana signs from Pennington FC
Central announce their second signing of the season in midfielder Boic Bafana from fellow Manchester League club Pennington JFC.
Central faced Boic twice last season, once in our 2-2 draw against Atherton LR Reserves and also our 5-2 loss to Pennington. He caught the eye of the managers across both games and after coming down to pre-season training he has decided to sign for Central for the 2018/2019 season.
Boic has represented a number of clubs in the Evo-Stik and also the Northwest counties so he will be a valuable player as Central play in The Manchester League Premier Division for the first time this season.
He hasn’t taken long to make his mark, after making his official debut against Chadderton Reserves in the Terry Wood Cup he got on the end of a Josh Frith corner in the 3rd minute to put central ahead.
Assistant Manager Kyle Lord said “Over the course of last season the best we ever played against was Boic. Ever since that away game to Atherton LR we knew we had to get him at Manchester Central, luckily for us that happened. As you can see by him scoring on his debut he’s a great addition to the squad. He has great experience of non-league football and this is another strong player that has signed for us.”
Being comfortable whether in midfield or defense Boic will be a valuable player to have for next season.
