Manchester Central Football Club is delighted to announce that first team players Lamin Baldeh and Carlos Mendes have completed a move to join League 2 side, Morecambe FC.
After impressing during a trial period, playing for Morecambe’s reserve team games, they caught the eye of first team manager Jim Bentley and reserve team boss Stewart Drummond.
The duo have both signed one year deals with the Lancashire side, who recently secured their League 2 status.
Baldeh has impressed for Central this season scoring 9 goals in just 6 appearances. This included scoring 5 against Leigh Athletic in an 8-0 victory for Central.
Bill Prendergast of The Manchester College said: ”Lamin’s been in the professional game previously and came to me a few years ago. He’s physically able and can definitely compete technically.”

Baldeh also added: ”I’m really pleased to sign. I’d like to thank everyone who helped me throughout this journey and thanks to the Manager, Jim Bentley, for putting his trust in me.”
Also joining him at Morecambe is Carlos Mendes. The forward played for Central against Pennington FC earlier this year, also featuring heavily for West Didsbury & Chorlton in the North West Counties Premier Division.
On his move to Morecambe, Mendes expressed his excitement: ”I’m looking forward to the new season and I hope it brings blessings and I achieve my targets for the club.”
Prendergast said: ”I haven’t seen anything like Carlos Mendes in all my years of developing players. He does things differently.
“He plays in a way that opens up defences and has an eye for goal.”
