Manchester Central’s penultimate fixture takes place this Tuesday against Wilmslow Albion at Oakwood Farm (18:45 KO).
Central come into this game full of confidence after impressively beating league leaders Beechfield United 2-0 at the weekend. Goals from top scorer Cory Knight and Kaine Martin ensured Central were victorious at Ten Acres Lane.
The win was made even sweeter when the team found out Elton Vale had lost 4-3 to Leigh Athletic. Elton Vale now need to win all of their games to catch Central.
Elton Vale face an exciting clash against third placed Chadderton Reserves. Central will be looking to try and consolidate 2nd position with a win.
Wilmslow lost 2-1 away against Atherton Town, with their only win in 8 games coming against Leigh Athletic.
Defensively, Wilmslow had a bad start to the year, conceding 17 goals in 3 games but they appeared to have shored up their defence recently somewhat, conceding 9 goals in the last 5 games.
Wilmslow sit second from bottom in Division One but have three games in hand on rivals Hollinwood. Recent goal scorer Oliver Ford will be looking to add to his tally against Central.
